“Cousin Bob's lad is in the picture, him in the centre...”
It was one of Mr Rigden's photo-postcards
Other tobacconists were available, in 1920
The message reads: “Dear Jennie
“Had a grand walk this morning, splendid weather around here and beautiful scenery. I am going for a walk around this place tonight with Ted.
Tell Dad cousin Bob’s lad is in this picture, him in the centre with hands behind back.
Kind regards to all, Charlie”
It’s one of the Rigden’s series of postcards.
Mr Rigden was a medical assistant to the local doctor, after serving in the Boer war, and he had a photographic hobby.
His postcards were sold in the barber’s, and he had a shop across the road selling photographic equipment.
