Where's Nant Mill farmhouse? You won't find it in Nant Mill Country Park.
Sadly, a tree fell on to it in the 1950s and it was demolished. It stood the far side of the ford, opposite the play area, and these vintage pictures show how it looked. Can you see the small water wheel in the river, in the 40's painting? It powered the butter churn, where cream was churned into butter to sell on the milk round. If you’re at Nant Mill, you can see where water was taken from the mill race (the water channel by the play area) to power it. The cast iron hub of the waterwheel was pulled from the river by Gerald Powell in 1981.
