Her daughter Gillian Clarke, says: ‘My father was Engineer-in-charge of Outside Broadcasts, BBC. He lodged at Nant Mill during the National Eisteddfod in Coedpoeth, in 1933, and met my mother. He took these photographs then.’ Gillian was National Poet of Wales 2008-16, and the picture of Mr Evans inspired Gillian's poem ‘Taid', which appears in her book ‘Ice’. It includes several poems about the farm and family, and Gillian kindly lets us reproduce them.
